5 Bands I'm Loving Right Now

I love music.

It's pretty rare that you'll find me without music on, headphones in, or music cranked up in the car.

So, since I don't have the mental power to do more than write about the early modern search for legitimate authority right now, and not really even that, here are 5 videos from 5 bands that I love right now.

1. Mumford & Sons

I posted a hilarious video from them yesterday, but here's another one of them (really them this time, Amanda Lee!). Also, if anyone would like to get me tickets to any of their shows, I'd make you the legendary Pasta Carbonara. That's love.

2. The Lumineers

I'm going with Courtney, Kirby, and my roommate to see them in October and I CAN. NOT. WAIT. Also this video and song make my heart both happy and sad.

3. The Avett Brothers

I love all of their music, but this is such a pretty, emotional song. And the stripped down video is perfect.

4. Old Crow Medicine Show

I've loved Old Crow for years, and it never wanes. I saw them at Minglewood in 2009, right before I moved to Memphis, and it was wonderful. This is an oldie but goodie.

Also, if anyone ever sees it, if it really exists, I absolutely must have this shirt in my life:

5. Imagine Dragons

This band is newer to my rotation, but when I heard this song on the "The Host" trailer, I was instantly hooked. Even if "The Host" was almost laughably bad. :(

Enjoy!

  1. I saw Mumford and Avett Bros at Memphis in May a couple years ago. Mumford was kind of boring to watch, but the Avetts were a blast, despite the fact that we were all sopping wet and hella crowded. Everyone was singing and dancing and it was just a great time. Saw Wilco that time too and they were amazing. Will never forget that I was at a Wilco show when I got the news that bin Laden was dead.

    1. I've heard Wilco is good. I'm really looking forward to seeing The Lumineers because they're at one of my favorite venues, the Mud Island Amphitheatre - the audience faces the skyline of the city, and it's a pretty small venue.

  2. I am really digging Imagine Dragons lately! My husband is a big fan of theirs. :)
